In the twenty-fifth year: Previously, at the beginning of the Zhiping era, Chan Master Jiezhu of Feishan, relying on the three collections of Biographies of Eminent Monks, gathered those who cultivated pure karma and were reborn [in the Pure Land] at the end of their lives, composing the Pure Land Biographies in three fascicles. During the Yuanfeng era, Minister Wang Gu supplemented it with newly heard accounts, making four fascicles in total. In this year, Lu Shishou of Qiantang continued the compilation of those reborn in the Pure Land into eight fascicles, changing the title to Precious Pearl Collection.
