In the first year of the Baoyou reign period, the merit temple of Empress Xie was completed. The plaque was ordered to be inscribed "Jiade Yanshou" ("Praise of Virtue and Longevity"). The head monk, Great Master Baojian Shiju, responded to the imperial summons, was appointed Inspector of Rectitude for the Right Street, became the founding abbot, and broadly propagated the Tiantai teachings and contemplation. In the third month, twenty ordination certificates and four hundred shi of rice were bestowed to repair the Guanyin Hall at Upper Tianzhu.
