（三　癸丑）　玄宗隆基改開元（睿宗第三子。嬖楊貴妃。為道士。曰太真。帝初用姚崇宋璟為相治平。晚年耽湎淫佚。用李林甫楊國忠為相。安祿山為將致亂。幾致亡國。二十九即位。壽至七十八歲。至上元元年崩。葬泰陵）。

(3. Guichou [713 CE]) Emperor Xuanzong, [named] Longji, changed the era name to Kaiyuan. (He was the third son of Ruizong. He favored Noble Consort Yang, who was made a Daoist priestess titled Taizhen. In his early years, the emperor employed Yao Chong and Song Jing as chief ministers, bringing peace and good governance. In his later years, he indulged in licentiousness and dissipation, employing Li Linfu and Yang Guozhong as chief ministers, and An Lushan as general, leading to rebellion and almost destroying the state. He ascended the throne at age twenty-nine and lived to seventy-eight. He passed away in the first year of Shangyuan and was buried in the Tai Mausoleum.)
