荊季興（字貽孫。陝州硤石人。本名李昌。少為汴州李讓家童。梁祖初鎮宣武。讓入貲養為子。易姓朱氏。興因讓故得見梁祖。祖見奇之。亦命為子。因姓朱氏。後拜宋州刺史。破青州徙穎陽防禦。進封渤海王。復姓高氏。唐莊開蜀有功。封南平王。吳人冊之。立荊南二十年。壽五十四）○雷氏曰（季興荊南五主五七）。

Jixing of Jing (courtesy name Yisun; a native of Xiashi in Shanzhou. His original name was Li Chang. In his youth, he was a domestic servant of Li Rang of Bianzhou. When the Liang founder first garrisoned Xuanwu, Rang contributed funds to adopt him as a son, changing his surname to Zhu. Through Rang, Xing was able to see the Liang founder. The founder marveled at him and also took him as an adopted son, hence his surname became Zhu. Later he was appointed Prefect of Songzhou, defeated Qingzhou, and was transferred to Yingyang as Defense Commissioner. He was advanced to Prince of Bohai and restored his original surname Gao. Because of his merit during Tang Zhuang[zong]'s conquest of Shu, he was enfiefed as King of Nanping. The people of Wu conferred honors upon him.
