老君結氣成字偽（第八化云。聖紀經云。太上老君。昔於龍漢之年。從元始天尊。於中央大福堂國。說靈寶十部妙經。出法度人。又於東極大浮𪏭國。出法度人。以紫筆書於空青之林。又於南極禪離界。以火煉真文瑩發字形。又於西極衛羅世界。北極鬱單國。皆出法度人。老君以五方真氣之精。結成寶字。大方一丈。八角垂芒。為雲篆之形。飛鳥之狀。以立文章。又云。墳典自我而出。經籍自我而生也）。

Spurious Account of the Old Lord Congealing Qi to Form Characters (The eighth conversion states: 'The Shengji jing states: Formerly, in the year of Longhan, the Supreme Old Lord followed the Heavenly Worthy of Primordial Beginning in the central Country of Great Blessing Halls, preaching the ten wondrous scriptures of Lingbao and issuing doctrines to deliver people. Furthermore, in the eastern Country of Dafutai, he issued doctrines to deliver people, writing with a purple brush in the forest of celestial azure. In the southern Realm of Zhanli, he refined true talismans with fire, polishing and bringing forth the forms of the characters. In the western Realm of Weiluo and the northern Country of Yudan, he likewise issued doctrines to deliver people. With the essence of the true qi of the five directions, the Old Lord congealed precious characters, measuring one square zhang, their eight corners radiating light, taking the shapes of cloud seal scripts and flying birds, thereby establishing literary writings.
