帝見西僧經教與漢僧經教。音韻不同。疑其有異。命兩土名德對辯。一一無差。帝曰。積年疑滯今日決開（故有法寶勘同）。

The Emperor observed that the sūtras and teachings of the Western monks and those of the Han monks differed in phonology, and suspected discrepancies. He ordered renowned and virtuous figures of both lands to compare and debate them, and not a single error was found. The Emperor said: "Years of doubt and obstruction are resolved today!" (Hence there was the Collated Catalogue of the Dharma Treasure).
