帝命寫金字藏經。卷軸前圖像未定。帝云。此經是釋迦佛說。止畫說主。庶看讀者知有所自。
The Emperor ordered the copying of the Tripiṭaka in gold characters, but the frontispiece illustrations of the scrolls were not yet decided. The Emperor said: 'These sutras were spoken by Śākyamuni Buddha. Paint only the speaker of the teachings, so that readers may know from whence they originated.'
