帝平宋已。彼境教不流通。天下揀選教僧三十員。往彼說法利生。由是直南教道大興。

After the Emperor pacified the Song, the teachings were not circulating in that territory. Thirty doctrinal monks were selected from throughout the realm to go there to preach the Dharma and benefit sentient beings. From this, the doctrinal path greatly flourished directly in the south.
