（辛酉）　平帝衍改元始（元帝庶孫。中山孝王興之子。三歲封為王。元壽二年九月即位。時方九歲。王莽秉政。已丑崩未央宮。葬康陵。壽十四）。

(Xinyou) Emperor Ping, [named] Yan, changed the era to Yuanshi (a concubine-born grandson of Emperor Yuan and son of Prince Xiao Xing of Zhongshan. Enfeoffed as a prince at three years of age. Ascended the throne in the ninth month of the second year of Yuanshou, at which time he was just nine years of age. Wang Mang held the reins of government.
