（九）　竺僧朗。京兆人也。專以講說為任。而疎食布衣志耽物外。自皇始移上太山薙茅居之。時聞風而造者百有餘焉。道德凝懷。千里哲人競湊。芳聲播遠。五朝天子移風。貢物飛符孰能並駕。

(9) Zhu Senglang was a man of Jingzhao. He devoted himself exclusively to lecturing and expounding, subsisting on coarse food and coarse cloth robes, with his mind delighting beyond worldly things. From the Huangshi era, he moved up Mount Tai, clearing the thatch to dwell there. At that time, those who heard of his repute and came to him numbered more than a hundred. Virtue crystallized within his breast; wise men from a thousand li vied to gather there. His fragrant renown spread far and wide; the Sons of Heaven of five dynasties were transformed by his ways. In sending tribute offerings and speeding official letters, who could rival him?
