（二十三）　沙門法果。戒行精至開演法籍。是歲明元皇帝進加僧統。言允愜賜封輔國宜城子忠信侯安城公之號。師皆固辭。帝親幸其居。以門巷狹小不容輿輦。更廣大之。瞻敬慰問若此。年八十餘卒。帝三臨其喪。追贈老壽將軍趙胡靈公。

(Twenty-third year) The monk Faguo was meticulous in his precepts and practice, and expounded the Dharma scriptures. In this year, Emperor Mingyuan promoted him to Monastic Controller. Finding his counsel thoroughly agreeable, the Emperor conferred upon him the titles of State-Supporting Master of Yicheng, Marquis of Loyalty and Faith, and Duke of Ancheng. The master firmly declined them all. The Emperor visited his residence in person; because the gateway and lane were too narrow to admit his carriage and palanquin, he widened them. Such was his respect, veneration, and solicitude. Faguo passed away at over eighty years of age. The Emperor attended his funeral three times and posthumously conferred upon him the title of General of Venerable Longevity and Duke Ling of Zhaohu.
