8.33

魏真君九年。天師寇氏勉帝以京之東南地建靚輪天宮。奏曰。陛下以真君御世開古未有。應受符命。帝然之。遂受符錄。建靚輪天宮令極高大。不聞雞犬之音。要與天神交接。工力萬計。經年不成。其寇謙之惡疾死。功遂止。

In the ninth year of the Zhenjun era of the Wei, Celestial Master Kou urged the emperor to build the Celestial Palace of Jinglun to the southeast of the capital. He memorialised: "Your Majesty governs the world as a True Sovereign, opening an era unprecedented in antiquity; you ought to receive the talismanic mandate." The emperor agreed. He then received the talismans and registers, and built the Celestial Palace of Jinglun, ordering that it be made exceedingly high and grand so that the sounds of cocks and dogs could not be heard, in order to commune with the celestial spirits. The labourers numbered in the tens of thousands, but after years it remained unfinished. Then Kou Qianzhi died of a malignant disease, and the work was discontinued.
