（七　丙戌）　五年帝注大品。臣僚命法師法雲講之。雲辭疾不赴。帝遣使強起之曰。將冀流通。非高德無以憑也。雲始從之。雲最有譽當世。雅為昭明太子所敬。儒釋兩優。為天下第一。

(7. Bingxu) In the fifth year, the Emperor wrote a commentary on the Pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikā-prajñāpāramitā-sūtra. The ministers and officials requested Master Fayun to lecture on it. Fayun declined on grounds of illness and did not attend. The Emperor sent an envoy to press him to rise, saying, "Desiring that it circulate, without one of lofty virtue there is none to rely upon." Only then did Yun comply. Yun enjoyed the highest renown in his generation and was deeply respected by Crown Prince Zhaoming. Excelling in both Confucianism and Buddhism, he was foremost under heaven.
