Shudu was a son of King Wen. King Wu enfeoffed him and made him oversee Wu Geng (son of King Zhou of Yin). Spreading rumors together with Guan Shu, he rebelled. The Duke of Zhou assisted King Cheng and banished Shudu to Guolin. His son Hu followed virtue and reformed his conduct, and was reenfeoffed in Cai (now Runing in Bianliang Route, the territory of ancient Caizhou in Yuzhou). From Shudu for five generations down to Marquis Li, the chronology cannot be verified. It can only be recorded after Marquis Li's son, Marquis Wu, acceded. It began in the first year of King Wu, a jimao year, and ended in the twenty-second year of King Zhending, a jiawu year. There were twenty-five rulers, spanning a total of 676 years. King Hui of Chu extinguished it.
