Surname Ying. Their ancestry originated from Gaoyang. Daye, the son of Nüxiu, a descendant of Emperor Zhuanxu, fathered Baiyi, known as Dafei. Dafei assisted Yu in pacifying the waters and land. Later, Zaofu drove chariots for King Mu, won his favor, and was enfiefed in Zhao (now Qinzhou in the Gongchang Route of Shaanxi, territory of Yongzhou; originally land of the Western Rong). In the nineteenth generation from Dafei was Feizi, who managed horses for King Xiao. The herds multiplied, and he was granted a fief, styled Ying Qin as an attached state. Reaching Qinzhong, King Xuan commissioned him as a Grand Master, and they first came to cherish chariots, horses, rites, and music. Qinzhong's grandson, Duke Xiang, encountered King You's defeat by the Western Rong. When King Ping moved east, Xiang led troops to rescue Zhou with great merit. In the first year of King Ping, he was granted land and first appointed an envoy among the feudal lords. In the sixth year of King Ping's sacrifices, Duke Wen of Qin made Longzhou his capital (subordinate to the Gongchang Route), which originally had been the fief granted by King Xiao. The ninth year of King Nan was the first year of King Zhaoxiang. Through thirty rulers over a total of five hundred and sixty-three years, King Zhaoxiang annexed Zhou, and King Nan died.
