欣。元帝孫。成帝弟。定陶共王之子。在位六年。壽二十五。帝屢誅大臣。欲強主威。王莽辭以病免。帝崩無嗣。元后召王莽為大司馬。迎中山王衎而立之　建平（四）元壽（二）。

[Emperor] Xin. He was a grandson of Emperor Yuan, a younger [cousin-]brother of Emperor Cheng, and the son of King Gong of Dingtao. He reigned for six years and lived to be twenty-five. The Emperor repeatedly executed high officials, wishing to strengthen the sovereign's authority. Wang Mang resigned on the pretext of illness. When the Emperor died without an heir, Empress Dowager Yuan summoned Wang Mang to serve as Grand Marshal and welcomed Kan, King of Zhongshan, to enthrone him. Reign eras: Jianping (4), Yuanshou (2).
