魏　許州（隷汴梁路郡名頴川豫域）朱士衡棄俗出家。為漢地沙門之始。於洛陽講道行經。為此土講經之始。經有疑。士衡直往西域。求梵夾證之（本傳）。

Wei: Zhu Shixing of Xuzhou (subordinate to the Bianliang Route; commandery name: Yingchuan, Yu Province) renounced secular life and became a monk, marking the beginning of śramaṇas in the land of the Han. He lectured on the Daoxing jing in Luoyang, which was the beginning of lecturing on sutras in this land. When he had doubts about the scripture, Shixing traveled directly to the Western Regions to seek Sanskrit manuscripts to verify it. (Original biography).
