啟子荒逸畋獵洛水之表。十旬弗歸。有窮后羿因民之困距之於河。厥弟五人作歌以怨之。尚書也。在位三十年。失國不得歸。后羿立太康之弟仲康。

Son of Qi. Dissolute and idle, he went hunting beyond the Luo River and did not return for a hundred days. Houyi of Youqiong, taking advantage of the people's distress, blocked him at the river. His five younger brothers composed songs lamenting him; these appear in the Book of Documents. He reigned for thirty years, lost his state, and could not return. Houyi enthroned Taikang's younger brother, Zhongkang.
