2.11

沙門竺法乘。神悟超絕。玄鑒過人。師於法護。護甚嘉之。後到燉煌立寺。延其學侶。大化于西者乘之力也（高僧傳）。

The śramaṇa Zhu Facheng possessed transcendent divine comprehension and a deep insight surpassing other men. He studied under Dharmarakṣa, who greatly praised him. Later he went to Dunhuang, established a monastery, and invited his fellow students. That the Great Transformation flourished in the west was through Cheng's effort (Gaoseng zhuan).
