諱寶融。明帝第八子。封南康王。出刺荊州。辛巳年春三月即皇帝位。壬午年春正月詔進大司馬蕭衍位相國總百揆。揚州牧封十郡為梁公備九錫。一月進爵為王。帝東歸至姑熟（江東太平路也）。下詔禪位于梁王即皇帝位。奉帝為巴陵王尋殺之。在位一年。壽十六歲。

His personal name was Baorong. He was the eighth son of Emperor Ming. Created King of Nankang, he was sent out to serve as regional inspector of Jingzhou. In the spring of the xinhai year, in the third month, he ascended the imperial throne. In the spring of the renwu year [502], in the first month, an edict promoted Grand Minister of War Xiao Yan to Chancellor of State, to oversee the myriad regulators; he was appointed Shepherd of Yangzhou, enfeoffed with ten commanderies as Duke of Liang, and provided with the Nine Bestowals. In the first month, his title was advanced to King. As the emperor was returning east and arrived at Gushu (the Taiping Circuit of Jiangdong), he issued an edict abdicating the throne to the King of Liang, who then ascended the imperial throne. The emperor was honoured as King of Baling, but was soon put to death. He reigned for one year and died at the age of sixteen.
