Crown Prince Zhaoming of the Liang, Xiao Tong, founded the Huiyi Hall in the Eastern Palace and invited famous monks from all under heaven to reside there. The Emperor granted Dharma Master Huichao the title of Scholar of Shouguang (Liang Chronicles and Biographies of Eminent Monks).
