西魏文帝造般若寺。帝每運慈悲。常行信施。拯溺扶老。供給病僧。口誦法華。身持淨戒。丞相宇文泰興隆釋典。講摩訶衍。命釋曇顯撰眾經要二十二卷。及一百二十門（辯正錄）。西魏進丞相泰為安定公。

Emperor Wen of the Western Wei founded the Bore Monastery. The Emperor frequently exercised loving-kindness and constantly practiced faithful giving, rescuing the drowning, supporting the elderly, and providing for ill monks. With his mouth he recited the Lotus Sūtra, and in his person he observed the pure precepts. The Chancellor Yuwen Tai promoted the Buddhist scriptures and expounded the Mahāyāna; he commanded the śramaṇa Tanxian to compile the Essentials of All Sūtras in twenty-two fascicles and one hundred and twenty headings (from the Record of Clarifying What Is Right). The Western Wei advanced Chancellor Tai to Duke of Anding.
