隋帝召遷法師。詔曰。皇帝敬問徐州曇遷法師。承勤精大教利益無邊。承風飡德實懷虛想。願即來儀以沃勞望。遷至京大弘法化（開皇紀）。

The Sui Emperor summoned Dharma Master Qian. The imperial edict stated: "The Emperor respectfully inquires after Dharma Master Tanqian of Xuzhou. Having heard that you are diligently devoted to the Great Teaching and that your benefits are boundless, We have long admired your deportment and savored your virtue, truly harboring an earnest longing. We desire that you come here at once to quench Our weary yearning." When Qian arrived at the capital, he vastly propagated the transformation of the Dharma (Kaihuang ji).
