七月南郡宣武公桓溫疾篤。以弟冲領其眾薨。冲稱溫遺命。以少子玄為嗣。時方五歲。襲封南郡公。冲代溫居任盡忠王室。八月太后復臨朝攝政。

In the seventh month, Duke Xuanwu of Nanjun, Huan Wen, fell gravely ill. He died after entrusting his forces to his younger brother Chong. Chong claimed Wen's posthumous command was to make his youngest son, Xuan, his heir. At that time Xuan was just five years old, yet he inherited the title of Duke of Nanjun. Chong acted in Wen's stead to hold office, showing utmost loyalty to the imperial house. In the eighth month, the Empress Dowager once again attended court to administer the governance.
