蓮華漏　遠公之門有僧慧要。患山中無刻漏。乃於水上立十二葉芙蕖。因波而轉。以定十二時。晷景無差。今曰遠公蓮華漏是也。

The Lotus Clepsydra. Among Master Huiyuan's disciples was the monk Huiyao. Troubled that there was no clepsydra in the mountains, he placed twelve lotus leaves upon the water that rotated with the ripples to mark the twelve double-hours, without any error against the solar shadow. Today this is called Master Huiyuan's Lotus Clepsydra.
