戊子天寶七載。大將軍高力士於西京建寶壽寺成鑄洪鐘。辦齋以慶之。舉朝畢集。約以擊鐘一杵。施錢百緡。有樂施者至二十杵（唐舊史）。

In the wuzi year, the seventh year of Tianbao, Senior General Gao Lishi built Baoshou Monastery in the Western Capital; when it was completed, he cast a great bell and organized a vegetarian feast to celebrate it. The entire court assembled. They agreed that for each strike of the bell, one hundred strings of cash must be donated. There were those eager to give who went up to twenty strikes (Tang jiushi).
