丙子貞元十二年四月。帝生日故事命沙門道士講論於麟德殿。至是始命以儒二參之。帝悅賜法師瑞甫紫方袍。命入官輔導皇太子。

In the fourth month of the twelfth year of Zhenyuan, a bingzi year, on the emperor's birthday, by established custom śramaṇas and Daoists were ordered to lecture and debate in Linde Hall; only now was it ordered that Confucianism also participate as a third party. The emperor was pleased and bestowed upon Dharma Master Ruifu a purple square robe, ordering him to enter the palace to guide the Crown Prince.
