貞元二十一年正月辛未朔。諸王親戚入賀。太子獨以疾不能來。帝涕泣悲嘆由是得疾日益甚。凡二十餘日中外不通。莫知兩宮安否。

On the first day, xinwei, of the first month of the twenty-first year of Zhenyuan, the princes and relatives entered to offer congratulations; the Crown Prince alone was unable to come due to illness. The emperor wept and sighed in sorrow, and from this he fell ill, growing worse day by day. For over twenty days there was no communication between the inside and outside, and no one knew whether the two palaces were at peace.
