甲辰長慶四年冬。帝崩於寢殿。敬宗即位於太極東序。十二月徐泗觀察使王智興以帝生日請於泗州置戒壇度僧尼以資福。帝許之。杭州永福寺刊石壁法華經。元稹為記（唐書舊史圖經）。

In the jiachen year, the fourth year of Changqing, in winter, the emperor passed away in his bedchamber. Jingzong ascended the throne in the eastern wing of Taiji Hall. In the twelfth month, Wang Zhixing, Surveillance Commissioner of Xu and Si, requested on the emperor's birthday that an ordination platform be established in Sizhou to ordain monks and nuns to foster merit. The emperor granted it. Stone-wall engravings of the Lotus Sūtra were carved at Yongfu Temple in Hangzhou, for which Yuan Zhen wrote the inscription (Book of Tang, Old History, Illustrated Treatises).
