Three generations living together. Wan Jingru was a native of Luzhou. Three generations lived together, and upon losing his parents, he built a hut by their graves. He pricked his finger to write Buddhist scriptures in blood. The commandery governor renamed the village where he lived, calling it Chengxiao Township ("Fulfilling Filial Piety") and Guangxiao Settlement ("Broad Filial Piety"). Arriving at the twelfth year of Dazhong, the authorities reported it to the emperor, who decreed an imperial commendation for his household (from the Book of Tang).
