癸巳咸通十四年三月。詔迎鳳翔法門寺佛骨。以四月八日至京。帝御安福門樓迎拜。引入內道場三日供養。送京城諸寺。七月帝崩。太子即位。明年四月詔送佛骨歸於鳳翔。都人耆耋辭餞。皆嗚咽流涕（舊唐書）。

In the guisi year, the fourteenth year of Xiantong, in the third month, an imperial edict ordered the welcoming of the Buddha bone from Famen Monastery in Fengxiang. On the eighth day of the fourth month it arrived in the capital. The Emperor ascended the tower of Anfu Gate to welcome and pay homage to it, introduced it into the inner bodhimaṇḍa for three days of offerings, and sent it to various monasteries in the capital. In the seventh month the Emperor passed away, and the Crown Prince ascended the throne. In the fourth month of the following year, an edict ordered the Buddha bone to be returned to Fengxiang. The elders and senior citizens of the capital bade farewell and saw it off, all weeping and shedding tears (Old Book of Tang).
