戊申文德元年二月。帝自鳳翔歸京。三月不豫。壬寅大漸。皇弟吉王保長而賢。群臣屬望。十軍觀軍容使楊復恭請立其弟壽王傑為皇太弟。癸卯帝崩。遺制太弟傑。更名敏。即皇帝位　王建據有西川。

In the wushen year, the first year of the Wende reign era (888), in the second month, the Emperor returned to the capital from Fengxiang. In the third month he fell ill. On the renyin day his condition became critical. The imperial younger brother, Prince Bao of Ji, was mature and virtuous, and the assembly of ministers placed their hopes in him. Yang Fugong, the Army Reviewing Commissioner of the Ten Armies, requested that his younger brother, Prince Jie of Shou, be installed as Imperial Younger Brother. On the guimao day the Emperor passed away. By testamentary edict, the Imperial Younger Brother Jie—renamed Min—succeeded to the imperial throne. Wang Jian seized control of Xichuan.
