辛酉大復元年正月朔。王仲尼入朝。孫德昭擒斬之。崔胤迎帝御長樂門樓。帥百官稱賀。周承晦擒劉季述王彥範繼至。方詰責已為亂挺所斃。薛齊偓赴井死。出而斬之滅四人之族。時朱全忠李茂貞各有挾天子令諸侯之意。全忠欲帝幸洛陽。茂貞欲帝幸鳳翔。朱全忠至河中表請車駕幸東都。十一月中尉韓全誨逼帝幸鳳翔。遂火其宮城。

In the xinyou year, the first year of the Tianfu reign era (901), on the new moon of the first month, Wang Zhongxian entered the court, and Sun Dezhao seized and decapitated him. Cui Yin welcomed the Emperor to ascend the tower of the Changle Gate, leading the hundred officials in offering congratulations. Zhou Chenghui captured Liu Jishu and Wang Yanfan and brought them subsequently; while being interrogated and rebuked, they were already beaten to death with chaotic cudgels. Xue Qiwu threw himself into a well and died; his body was hauled out and decapitated, and the clans of the four men were exterminated. At that time, Zhu Quanzhong and Li Maozhen each harbored the intention of holding the Son of Heaven hostage to command the feudal lords. Quanzhong wanted the Emperor to go to Luoyang, while Maozhen wanted the Emperor to go to Fengxiang. Zhu Quanzhong arrived at Hezhong and submitted a memorial requesting the imperial carriage to visit the Eastern Capital. In the eleventh month, Commandant Han Quanxui forced the Emperor to go to Fengxiang, and subsequently set fire to the palace city.
