丙寅三年南平鐘傅薨。子匡時立。尋為秦虜。荊南節度高季昌據荊南。閩王會雪峰玄沙二禪師問曰。將何為道作何修行見性成佛。雪峰曰。宜先懺悔滌除障垢。所以獲心見性。一切業障海。皆從妄想生。若欲懺悔者端坐念實相。願大王識取實相。自然成佛（本傳）。丁卯天祐四年三月。帝遜於梁王。梁受禪改元開平元年。

In the bingyin year, the third year, Zhong Fu of Nanping died. His son Kuangshi was enthroned, but was soon captured by Qin. Gao Jichang, Military Commissioner of Jingnan, occupied Jingnan. The King of Min met with the two Chan masters Xuefeng and Xuansha and asked, "What should be taken as the Way, and what kind of practice should be undertaken to see one's nature and attain Buddhahood?" Xuefeng said, "You should first repent and cleanse the defilements of obstructions; this is how one realizes the mind and sees one's nature. 'The entire ocean of karmic obstacles / Is born from false thoughts. / If one wishes to repent, / Sit upright and contemplate true reality.' May the Great King recognize true reality, and you will naturally become a Buddha" (from his biography). In the dingmao year, the fourth year of Tianyou, in the third month, the Emperor abdicated in favor of the King of Liang. Liang accepted the abdication and changed the reign era to the first year of Kaiping.
