荊南節度使高季昌。字賂孫。陝州人（隷今洛陽）。梁初鎮荊南節度十州後為諸道所侵。季昌有江陵一城而已。至後唐莊宗時。封為南平王。

Gao Jichang, Military Commissioner of Jingnan, courtesy name Luosun, was a native of Shanzhou (which now belongs to Luoyang). At the beginning of Liang, he governed Jingnan, commanding ten prefectures, but later they were encroached upon by various circuits; Jichang held only the single city of Jiangling. By the time of Emperor Zhuangzong of Later Tang, he was enfeoffed as King of Nanping.
