諱存勗。本沙陀人。唐懿宗咸通九年賜其祖。姓李。名國昌。帝父名克用。破黃巢復京師功第一。拜河東節度使。累封晉王。薨存勗嗣王位。滅梁建國曰唐。追尊父王克用曰武皇帝。帝在位三年。壽三十五歲　同光（三）。

Taboo name Cunxu. Originally of the Shatuo people. In the ninth year of Xiantong under Emperor Yizong of Tang, his grandfather was bestowed the imperial surname Li and the personal name Guochang. The Emperor's father was named Keyong, whose merit was foremost in destroying Huang Chao and recovering the capital; he was appointed Military Commissioner of Hedong and successively enfeoffed as Prince of Jin. When he died, Cunxu inherited the princely title, destroyed Liang, and established the state named Tang. He posthumously honored his father, King Keyong, as Emperor Wu. The Emperor reigned for three years and died at the age of thirty-five. [Era name:] Tongguang (three years).
