八月。吳主下詔禪位于齊王。徐知詰即皇帝位于建康。大赦國號曰唐（南唐也）。年曰昇元。尊吳主曰讓皇。宮室乘輿服御皆如故。宗廟正朔徽章服色悉從吳制。明年讓皇殂。唐主廢朝二十七日。追諡曰睿皇帝。唐昇元三年。知誥復姓李。更名昪（始見唐明宗天成二年丁亥歲）。

In the eighth month, the ruler of Wu issued an edict abdicating the throne to the King of Qi. Xu Zhigao ascended the imperial throne in Jiankang, granted a general amnesty, named the state Tang (the Southern Tang), and designated the reign era Shengyuan. He honored the ruler of Wu as the Abdicated Sovereign. The palaces, carriages, clothing, and regalia all remained as before; the ancestral temple, calendar, insignia, and court dress colors all followed the Wu system. The following year, the Abdicated Sovereign passed away. The Tang ruler suspended court for twenty-seven days, and conferred the posthumous title Emperor Rui. In the third year of Shengyuan of the Tang, Zhigao resumed the surname Li and changed his name to Bian (first appearing in the dinghai year, the second year of Tiancheng under Mingzong of the Tang).
