4.112

帝賜譯經院修心偈曰。初祖安心在少林。不傳經教但傳心。從人若悟真如性。密印由來妙理深（明教正宗記第十二卷）。

The Emperor bestowed a verse on cultivating the mind to the Scripture Translation Institute:
"The First Patriarch pacified the mind at Shaolin;
He did not transmit scriptural teachings, but transmitted only the mind.
If following another one awakens to the true-suchness nature,
The secret seal from of old has profound and wondrous principle." (Mingjiao Zhengzong ji, fascicle 12).
