歐陽公修自諫院除河北都轉運使。左遷滁州。遊廬山東林圓通寺。遇祖印禪師居訥。談論大教。折中儒佛。與韓文公見大顛相類（歐陽外傳）。

Lord Ouyang Xiu was transferred from the Remonstrance Bureau to serve as Fiscal Commissioner of Hebei, and was demoted to Chuzhou. Visiting Yuantong Monastery at Donglin on Mount Lu, he met Chan Master Zuyin Junie, conversing with him on the Great Teaching and synthesizing Confucianism and Buddhism. This was similar to Han Wengong's meeting with Dadian (Ouyang waizhuan).
