Dharma Master Huicai of Nanshan in Hangzhou had profound understanding and practice; he entered the chamber of the Venerable Fazhi of Siming. Whenever he recited the Great Compassion Dhāraṇī, he would only stop after one hundred and eight times. He once dreamed that Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva took off his kāṣāya robe to clothe him. At this time, in the third month, spring, he administered the Great Bodhisattva Precepts at Leifeng to Lingzhi Yuanzhao and a thousand monastics and laypeople. Just as the karmavācanā was being performed, the statue of Avalokiteśvara emitted bright light. At first it pierced through as a precious flame, and then gradually dispersed; the lamps, torches, and moonlight in the lecture hall were all outshone by it. Chan Master Fazhen Shouyi of Jingci composed the 'Record of the Precept Light as Evidence'. Mi Fu wrote the calligraphy, and Dharma Master Biancai Yuanjing of Longjing erected the stone stele (Lingzhi taming).
