遼帝秋七月大漸。戒孫延禧曰。南朝通好歲久。汝性剛切勿生事。又戒大臣曰。嗣君若妄動。卿等當力諫止之。帝崩在位四十六年。廟號道宗。諡天福皇帝（遼志）。

In the seventh month of autumn, the Liao emperor was gravely ill. He admonished his grandson Yanxi, saying: "Friendly relations with the Southern Dynasty have lasted for many years; your nature is unyielding—on no account stir up trouble." He also admonished his ministers, saying: "If the heir apparent acts recklessly, you ministers must forcefully remonstrate and stop him." The emperor died after reigning for forty-six years. His temple name was Daozong, and his posthumous title was Emperor Tianfu (Liao Annals).
