御贊觀世音菩薩　七月。帝御選德殿。製觀世音菩薩贊曰。觀音大士。以所謂普門示現神通力故。應跡于杭之天竺山。其來尚矣。朕每有禱祈。隨念感應。曰雨曰暘不愆晷刻。是有助于沖人者也。因為作贊曰。猗歟大士。本自圓通。示有言說。為世之宗。明照無二。等觀以慈。隨感即應。妙不可思（上竺石刻）。

Imperial Encomium on Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva: In the seventh month, the Emperor, presiding in the Xuande Hall, composed an encomium on Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva, saying: "The Great Being Guanyin, by virtue of the supernatural power of manifestation through the universal gate, manifested traces at Mount Tianzhu in Hangzhou; this has indeed been of long standing. Whenever We offer prayers, the resonance responds according to Our thoughts; rain or sunshine, it never errs by a single moment. This is truly an assistance to Our humble self." Therefore, he composed an encomium, which said: / "Magnificent is the Great Being, / Originally intrinsically perfectly penetrating! / Manifesting speech, / Revered as the ancestral model for the world. / Brightly illuminating without duality, / Viewing equally with compassion, / Responding as soon as invoked, / Wondrous beyond comprehension!" / (Upper Tianzhu Stone Inscriptions).
