初諱孟[啟-口+山]。理宗弟。嗣榮王與芮之子。理宗子多而不育鞠。孟[啟-口+山]於宮中改名孜。又改曰祺。立為皇太子封忠王。賜名叡。帝即位進封嗣榮王為福王。是時權臣持國。帝擁虛器。在位十年。壽三十五歲（帝紀）咸淳（十）。

His original taboo name was Mengqi. He was Lizong's nephew, the son of Yurei, the Hereditary Prince of Rong. Lizong had many children, but none survived, so Mengqi was reared in the palace and had his name changed to Zi, and changed again to Qi. He was installed as Crown Prince, enfiefed as Prince of Zhong, and bestowed the name Rui. When the Emperor ascended the throne, he advanced the Hereditary Prince of Rong to Prince of Fu. At this time, powerful ministers controlled the state, and the Emperor held merely an empty title. He reigned for ten years and lived to the age of thirty-five (Di ji). Era: Xianchun (10).
