夏大旱。浙東天台講宗知禮（四明尊者）遵式（下竺懺主）同修護國金光明三昧懺三日乃雨。明州太守蘇為以碑頌其德（懺主行業記。四明教行錄）。浙西自春涉夏亦不雨。給事中知杭州張去華率僚屬具旛蓋鼓吹。迎天竺圓通大士禱於梵天寺。繼時雨霔四境沛足。此觀世音菩薩出應民望慈悲靈感之始也（上竺紀實靈感傳）。

In the summer there was a great drought. In Eastern Zhejiang, Zhili of the Tiantai doctrinal school (the Venerable of Siming) and Zunshi (the Penance Master of Lower Tianzhu) jointly cultivated the State-Protecting Golden Light Samādhi Repentance; after three days, it rained. The prefect of Mingzhou, Su Wei, praised their virtues with a stele (Record of the Acts of the Penance Master; Siming Record of Teaching and Practice). In Western Zhejiang, it also had not rained from spring into summer. Zhang Quhua, Supervising Secretary and Prefect of Hangzhou, led his subordinates with banners, canopies, drums, and wind instruments to welcome the Great Being of Perfect Penetration (Yuantong Dashi) of Tianzhu and prayed at Fantian Monastery. Soon rain poured down abundantly across the four borders. This was the beginning of Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara responding to the people's hopes with compassionate spiritual resonance (Record of the Spiritual Resonances of Upper Tianzhu).
