His personal name was Yan and his courtesy name was Shuda. He was a native of Lanling. He served the Qi, was enfeoffed as King of Liang, and received the abdication of the Qi. He reigned for forty-eight years and died at the age of eighty-six. [Reign eras:] Tianjian (18), Putong (7), Datong (2), Zhongdatong (6), Datong (11), Zhongdatong (1), and Taiqing (3).
