Langya: Chan Master Guangzhao of Mount Langya in Chuzhou (now Huaidong Circuit) was named Huijue, a native of Xiluo. At the age of twenty, he escorted the coffin of his father, the Prefect of Hengyang, back to Luo. Passing the ancient Yaoshan Monastery in Lizhou, he felt as if bound by a past affinity, and on this account left home. Having been ordained, he traveled to study, and attained the Dharma from Fenyang. Responding to conditions at the Chu River, he proclaimed the Way at the same time as Chan Master Xuedou Xian of Mingzhou (of the Yunmen school). The four quarters referred to them as the “Two Gates of Sweet Dew.” To this day, his remaining influence in Huainan is as if present. The Master was a Dharma heir of Chan Master Fenyang Zhao (Xu denglu).
