In the eighth month, the Khitan ruler passed away. He had been on the throne for twenty-five years and was forty-one years old. He was given the posthumous title Emperor Wencheng and the temple name Xingzong. His son Hongji ascended the throne, changing the twenty-third year of Chongxi to the first year of Qingning.
