In the seventh year of the Dade era, a guimao year: The Vajra Master, taboo name Gongjia-gela-si (which means 'Joy of All; Famous One'), also named Dampa (which means 'Wondrous'), was a Tibetan from the western lands. At first he served the Dharma King Master; his chanting of dhāraṇīs was like flowing water, and there was no manual of scriptures or ritual of dhāraṇīs that he did not thoroughly master. In Shizu's time, he arrived in this land; his interviews with the emperor were deemed fitting, and his spiritual responses back and forth were not just once. In Chengzong's time, he memorialized to exempt Buddhist monks from grain taxes; an imperial decree appointed him to reside at famous monasteries, and royal favors were unsurpassed. On the eighteenth day of the fifth month of this year, he passed away toward the west (Fozu tongzai).
