諱海山。順宗答剌麻八剌之長子也。初封懷寧王總兵北邊。屢立戰功。成宗崩。諸王立之在位五年。壽三十一而崩　帝當富有之業。慨然欲創治改法故。其封爵太盛而遙授之。官眾賜賚太隆而泛賞之恩溥。至元大德之政。於是稍有變更矣。

His taboo name was Qaišan. He was the eldest son of Shunzong, Darmabala. At first, he was enfeoffed as King of Huaining and oversaw military affairs on the northern frontier, repeatedly achieving military merits. When Chengzong passed away, the princes enthroned him. He reigned for five years and passed away at the age of thirty-one. The Emperor inherited an abundant empire and ardently wished to initiate governance and reform institutions; hence his conferrals of titles were excessively generous and granted remotely, his appointments were numerous, and his rewards and gifts were lavish, with his grace widely spread. The governance of the Zhiyuan and Dade eras was thereupon slightly altered.
