1.89

帝問帝師。施食至少。何能普濟無量幽冥。帝師云。佛法真言力猶如飲馬珠　帝命帝師齋竟。天雨金花繽紛而下。帝曰。何故有此祥瑞。帝師曰。陛下心花內發。天雨金花讚嘆。

The Emperor asked the Imperial Preceptor: "The food offerings are so meager; how can they universally relieve the boundless beings of the netherworld?" The Imperial Preceptor replied: "The power of the Buddha-Dharma's mantras is like the horse-watering jewel." When the Imperial Preceptor completed a vegetarian meal at the Emperor's command, golden flowers rained down in profusion from the sky. The Emperor asked: "Why is there this auspicious omen?" The Imperial Preceptor replied: "The flower of Your Majesty's mind has blossomed within, and the heavens rain golden flowers in praise."
